McDonalds - McDonald's wanted to charge me for ketchup
McDonalds wanted to charge me 60 cents each for three additional ketchups. I asked for 6, in the drive through line, I ordered two sandwiches, medium fries and a 10 pcs McNuggets. I don't think 6 ketchups are an unrealistic request. I have two kids and asked for 6 individual ketchup packets. The cashier charged me $1.80 additional for three ketchups at 60 cents each. I have many many times i have asked for ketchup and was told fine and it was put on the order screen at the drive through and was never put in the bag. I frequent this McDonald's at least once a week. (rt 38 and arc road, mount laurel NJ 08054 telephone 856-778-****.)
I told the person that I was not going to pay for three ketchup packets and they said I will just give you four packs and only charge you 10 cents for one. I told her that I was not going to buy ketchup at McDonalds. She said that it would be taken off. I waited a moment, but there was a big line on the drive through. So I went to the first window and was told the same sum, as previous, with the price of the ketchup included. I told the cashier that i was not going to pay for the ketchup, and they responded it is only ten cents each. I asked for it to be taken off, the cashier had to find someone to approve/help take off. It was eventually taken off. And when received my food, i looked in the bag and there was no ketchup. I then had to re ask for ketchup, please. And I was given a small hand full of ketchup. It was not counted, just grabbed and handed to me. I looked at the ketchup and there was 5 packets. I guess it does not pay to ask politely, and up front.
It is absolutely revolting that they are going to charge additionally if i go over my allotted three ketchups. They lost a very good customer.

This is happening in Canada too. There has been some sort of thing going on.
A couple of years ago they started posting ketchup on the drive thru screen as I asked for it. Now I ask and they post and I never get it. Now I know what was going on. Recently there has been some news that McDonalds CEO and Hienz CEO are not getting along.
They were probably trying to save some money and report the actual amount of times customers asked for ketchup because they stopped automatically handing it out years ago to save $$. Anyway this is bull cuz the food is so expensive and they make lots of $$. They should just give me a few ketchup. Its just making me not want to order from McDonalds.
But they have got my coffee business!I am glad I am not alone on this. I just hope everyone hasn't been getting blindly charged through the cost of the food when so many of us are not getting ketchup?
Happened to me tonight only I was told 30 cents for one pack. I will never be back.
I have worked in the food/bar industry for over 25 years.
This is a terrible policy. I guess they don't realize it is no longer 1960 and there are many other choices for mediocre to *** fast food just down the street.
"I don't think 6 ketchups are an unrealistic request."
Yeah it is, what is unrealistic is that you are demanding and not willing to pay for your extra ketchup. Go get your own from Walmart or something. If you are unwilling to pay for the extra you don't need them. Don't be a piggy.
lol, me I hope you are making fun of this cheapo.
if you were planning on taking it home, use ketchup at home. while I think that ketchup was a little overpriced, you can't just go taking as many as you want.
you need to realize that it does cost them money in order to get ketchup. I hope your kids weren't in the car because then they'll learn from you and be big annoying whiny babies in the future, just like you.
MCDONALD'S SUCK'S.I DO NOT KNOW WHY PEOPLE EAT THEIR ANYWAY.GO HOME AND COOK FOR YOUR KID'S.YOU WILL SAVE AND HAVE MORE MONEY TO BUY YOUR KID'S CLOTHES ETC.MY KID'S NEVER EAT OUT.I COOK EACH DAY AND MY KID'S ARE VERY HEALTHY.
Silly me, and there I was thinking that the condiments were built into the outrageous prices they charge...
people this is a BUSSINES! dotn you guys understand that? do you give free stuff at your house??
wow.. why cant you just pay for the ketchup?
it was only what $1.80 more? wow
I agree it is ridiculous!! I ordered a 50 chicken nuggets and they gave me 5 dips any additional would be .25. I've never been back
They give you three with your meal and charge for extras. Simple.
Now you know. Next time either ask for extras and pay for them or just take what amount they give to you. A company cannot just give away products. Well, maybe in your world they can.
Perhaps you would give me some of your household items if I asked for them. Just because I need or want them.
Now they can make money because they dont have to give you every thing for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
